Personable Leadership

A Voice for IOP Families

My name is Ashley Carroll and I am running for Isle of Palms City Council because I want to ensure quality of life for residents and future generations. Current issues within our community have created polarizations and strained relationships. I want to ensure that my children can grow up in a community that values caring, encouragement, and friendship. As an island resident and family business owner, I will be a clear-minded advocate for families. It is vital to preserve the residential charm of the island that is the bedrock of Isle of Palms’ identity. I will represent all residents with a strong, tolerant voice and I will work to protect our friendly island community.

Meet Ashley

I’m a College of Charleston graduate who fell in love with Isle of Palms instantly. When I moved to the island, I knew right away that Isle of Palms had everything I’d always wanted in a sense of place to call home. I dreamed of living in a beach town as a child because I so enjoyed my family’s summer beach trips, and that dream is now my reality. I have since established a family of my own, run a small family business here, and I feel very blessed to be a part of this amazing beach community.

I live in Wild Dunes with my husband Michael and our two children Grayden (7) and Evelyn (4). also have two step-children McKenzie (21) and Christian (19).

My husband and I purchased Carroll Realty from his family in 2015 and have been running it as a team ever since. When I am not on mom duty or working at the office, I enjoy playing tennis, beach time, hiking, puzzles, everything that is Georgia football, and spending quality time with my family and friends. My family also includes our sweet golden retriever, Kosta, and two spunky kitties, Roxy and Pebbles.

Carrying on the

Carroll Family Legacy

I am proud that my children are fourth-generation Isle of Palms residents. The Carroll Family have been residents of Isle of Palms for more than 60 years.

I feel a strong connection to Kathryn Carroll, Michael’s grandmother, who is remembered for being passionate, well-respected, and a progressive leader for families on IOP. I love and admire that she stood firm for what she believed in and was a caring advocate for her family and for IOP. She believed it was important that Isle of Palms maintain its sense of place while also having a clear-minded direction for the future.

Why I am running for

Isle of Palms City Council

I am running for City Council because I have an honest interest in protecting the quality of life on IOP. I want to bring a voice of unity and reason to the council and represent all residents with integrity. I will be a caring leader and ensure that our community’s best interest is always at the forefront of my mind.

I admit, I am not like other candidates. I do not have an entire career under my belt, politics is not my hobby, and I am not driven by a corporate mindset that may be influencing other candidates. I am a small business owner and a mom, and I use common sense reasoning and understanding to manage our business and teach my children what I believe to be right.

As a council member, I will never take for granted the trust instilled in me to represent our vibrant community and will work to ensure a bright future for Isle of Palms. I humbly ask for your vote for Isle of Palms City Council on November 7th.
